Openlaw Named User Prices

Instead of buying an Openlaw licence for a Case, you can buy a licence for named individuals, allowing them to handle any number of cases, up to a certain capacity.  You may buy these on an annual or a perpetual basis. If the user leaves, you may substitute a new user.

User Licences

User licences may be taken out for one or more named users.  They entitle each user to work on any number of cases, each of up to the chosen number of documents (Item capacity), for the life of the licence.

The licence price increases with the licence capacity.  You may buy licences singly, or at lower per user prices in blocks of 2, 5, 10, 25 or 50 users, or as a site licence for an unlimited number of your users at your nominated office or site.

The prices in the table below are for Unlimited capacity User Licences

Site Licences

The prices in the right hand column of each table are for Site Licences

  • site licences - these allow anyone in your organisation based at an office or site, to work on any number of cases - each of up to a given number of documents (item capacity)

Payment Options

Annual rentals are payable in advance, with the right to terminate on giving a three month's notice before the end of any year.  Support is charged at 20% p.a.

For any user licences, you can make a single once-off payment of three times the annual rental which will give you a perpetual or 'lifetime' licence for that block of users.   Support is charged annually, on the annual rental price.

External users

For all except site licences, licences for external members of your team such as the client, counsel and experts are fixed at £300 per head, per case.

Support and updates

Support covers the right to upgrades as they are released and telephone support.  For a perpetual or lifetime licence, annual support (including updates) is charged at 20% of the annual rental per annum.  For annual or quarterly licences, it is charged at 20% of the rental rates.

Support is telephone support for up to three main contacts.  For direct end-user support for larger numbers of users, an additional charge is made of £100 per user per annum.

Notes:

The prices are based on a multiplier of the case rental price for that capacity and the multiplier drops as the capacity increases.

*     If you need the occasional ability to run a case of a larger capacity, simply buy a case licence for the extra capacity needed for that case

*     If you need a larger team for a case, you can buy extra named user licences for each extra team member

*     Extra licences for third party members of your team such as the client, counsel or experts are only £300 per person per case

*     Licences may be transferred from one member of staff to another.  We reserve the right to charge a reasonable administration fee if transfers are made on a regular basis
