Openlaw Case Licence Prices

Case licences permit any member of your staff to work on the case.  Licences can be rented quarterly or annually or bought once-off as a 'lifetime' licence for the case.

You can rent an Openlaw licence for a case by paying on a regular basis.

Case Licences

A Case licence is taken out for a single named case.  Each case licence entitles any number of your users to work on the case, for the life of the case.

The table of case licence prices is:

Single Case Licence - Unlimited users may work on the case
Max Items in the case Quarterly Rental Annual Rental Lifetime licence
500 £300 £900 £1,575
1000 £500 £1,500 £2,625
2500 £800 £2,400 £4,200
5000 £1,000 £3,000 £5,250
10000 £1,400 £4,200 £7,350
20000 £1,600 £4,800 £8,400
unlimited £2,000 £6,000 £10,500

Quarterly Rental

You may pay quarterly rentals, paid quarterly in advance, with the right to terminate on giving a full month's notice.  Thus the base rental for Openlaw is £300 per quarter for the right to hold 500 Item Cards for all users working on a single case.

This is helpful if, for example, you want to use Openlaw for Disclosure but are not sure how long the case will run for and do not want to commit to a one-off purchase price. It also helps with the cash-flow and budgeting of the case. If it settles quickly, you save. If it runs on, we gain. Support is charged at 20% p.q.

Annual Rental

Alternatively you may pay annual rentals of 3 times the quarterly rental.  Annual rentals are payable in advance, and automatically renewed, but with the right to terminate on giving a full month's notice before the end of any year.  Support is charged at 20% p.a.

‘Lifetime’ or Perpetual Licence

If you expect the case to run for rather more than a year you can save by buying a time unlimited 'lifetime' or perpetual licence for the case for a single once-off payment of 175% of the annual rental.

Support is charged annually, on the annual rental price.

External users

For all case licences, licences for external members of your team such as the client, counsel and experts are fixed at £300 per head, per case.

Support and updates

Support covers the right to upgrades as they are released and telephone support.  For a perpetual or lifetime licence, annual support (including updates) is charged at 20% of the annual rental per annum.  For annual or quarterly licences, it is charged at 20% of the rental rates.

Support is telephone support for up to three main contacts.  For direct end-user support for larger numbers of users, an additional charge is made of £100 per user per annum.
