Openlaw Electronic File Cataloguer - Bespoke

Catalogue your mail and other electronic files into Openlaw with your own set of special rules

Special points of concern For instance, if there is any suggestion of fraud one might be concerned to check say the apparent sender of an e-mail with the machine from which it was sent, check and compare times and dates etc etc.  We have the facility to build in such checks as part of the processing of the hidden e-mail properties but this is usually not required.  We can also part manually, part programmatically, tidy up sender and recipient names where that is required.  These options are not part of the standard Cataloguer process.

Special imports and formats  Openlaw Cataloguer is designed to deal with standard business electronic files, especially those produced from Microsoft software.  For unusual formats or special requirements, please contact us.

Looking at the files the Experts found for you If you have had your electronic files provided to you by a forensic or data recovery expert, they may not have supplied you with suitable tools to help you to review the files and get on with your own document handling, list preparation and analysis.  This may also occur where a specialist firm has used their own tools to sift out the key documents from a much larger collection.  We can probably help.  Openlaw is designed to help professionals manage, analyse and list their documents, and Openlaw Cataloguer now makes it as easy, if not easier, to do this with electronic documents as with scanned paper ones.

Regularly catalogue new documents placed in a folder by some other system or process  Openlaw Cataloguer can be set to only add 'new' documents to Openlaw.  By running it say daily, new documents produced through say your case management system can be added in to Openlaw automatically.  These can then be combined with scanned paper documents into a complete document archive.

Do you have some bespoke requirements?

Bespoke requirements  Where a conversion can be done using standard tools the charge is usually modest.  Higher charges arise with urgency, site visits, unusual or proprietary formats (e.g. transfer files from a client’s bespoke system on Lotus Notes) and worst of all – data inconsistencies (these sometimes arise on importing from other systems’ exports).  Whenever we do data conversion we try to get briefed on the purpose behind the project as it is sometimes possible to add extra value by suggesting that some bespoke process is run to help achieve the overall objectives or to help with automating some aspect of the profiling.

In summary – Openlaw Electronic File Cataloguer is the latest addition to a wide range of tools designed to make Openlaw an excellent vehicle for reviewing and analysing on a document by document basis any collection of electronic documents, including e-mails taken from a PST file (as well as scanned paper documents), whether for the litigation or any other department.
