The Selection Slider

Introduction

GoTo Item is an option on the Item Card Menu. It allows you to jump to a specific Item within your current Selection by reference to its Date, User Order No, Item No or List No. Note that you can use the Selection Slider to go to an approximate position in a Selection.

It is important to note that the only Items available to you are those within the current Selection. If your Selection is Items 10 to 100, then an attempt to jump to Item 150 will fail - you will be told that Item 150 cannot be found.

Note also that the Index Order shown to you in each case is the one relevant to your search - use GoTo Date and the current Selection is shown in Date order. The Selection itself, however, is NOT re-ordered to match - it stays in its original order.

Go to Date

A date-order list appears of all dated Items in the current Selection, as shown here. Highlight one and press <OK> to go to that Item.

There are options to filter the list to show only Items which have no Date or only Items which have the date of the highlighted row.

Go to Index No

You see a list of Items in the current Selection which have an Index No, ordered by Index No. Highlight one and press <OK> to go to that Item.

There are options to filter the list to show only Items which have no Index No or only Items which have the same Index No as the highlighted row.

Go to Item No,  Go to List No and GoTo User Order No

These all work in the same way.

A list appears of all Items in the current Selection in the order of the relevant numbers - Item No, List No or User Order No depending on what you asked for from the menu. You will only see Items which have List Nos or User Order Nos - all Items have Item Nos so all Items will be returned on this request. Highlight one and press <OK> to go to that Item.

There are options to see only Items which have no List No or User Order No and to see only Items which have the selected number. These options are greyed out and inaccessible if your search was for Item Nos.

Go to Item No and Go to List No

An even quicker way to find Items by their Item No or List No is to insert the cursor in the relevant field and press

<TAB> or <Enter>. You will be taken to the relevant Item. Note that, although there can only be one instance of any Item No, it is possible (if rare) for there to be more than one instance of a List No. You can only jump to the first occurrence of a List No using this function. Use the menu option described above to choose between Items with the same List No.

Remember that you can also move through a Selection using the slider at the bottom of the Tabs.
