A Name Link is a connection between an Item and a person beyond that of Sender and Recipient. Copied to: and Present at: are examples of Name Links. See the section on the Name Links Tab.
Name Links can be added en bloc, that is, a particular combination of Name Link Type (e.g. Copied to:) and a Name can be added to every Item in your current Selection.
Why is this useful?
Suppose that you want to record against the minutes who was present at board meetings. You know for a fact that Geoff Ashworth was always there because meetings never happened without him. You could go through each of 300 entries for board minutes adding his name in the form Present at: Geoff Ashworth. Alternatively, you could make a selection comprising all the minutes and use this function to add his name to each one.
