This page and the pages called from it in the electronic version give you full instructions for installing and starting Openlaw.
The essentials are given below for a Case called Openlaw Demo.
The Installation procedure must be run once on every computer that is to run Openlaw.
An Openlaw "Case" is a free-standing set of files in its own folder and sub-folders comprising:
| • | an executable program file |
| • | some database files |
| • | and other Openlaw components. |
In the example given here, the executable file is called Openlaw Demo.
No data or program files are included in the Install. Either copy the Demo Case, Create a New Case or use the Case supplied by your bureau.
Once Install has run on a computer, any Openlaw Case can be run on it.
|
Run the appropriate install set on each PC to be used (see below). Our web site at www.openlawdirect.co.uk is dedicated to installation matters.
|
|
If your Windows version is Windows XP, install Openlaw Image Viewer (not usually required for earlier versions of Windows - see Viewing Files - Tiff Images).

|
Copy an Openlaw Case folder to a local or network drive. This might be our Demo Case or a live Case supplied by a bureau.
