Click the large button with the binoculars on the Control Panel screen and you will get the last search screen you used, or this, the default:

Assume you want to make a selection of all Item cards that have been marked 'In List' = True and you want the result in Item Date order.
Click the top left box to enable the 'In List' condition test, and set the checkbox to the value you are looking for, True, like this:

Now click 'Date' in the 'Sort by' area at the bottom of the screen,

then click 'Run Query'
and you will be put back to the Control Panel, with the green box showing the number of Items that met your search criteria - here it is 15 Items, which will be sorted in Date order.

Use the View button to confirm this, then return to the Control Panel.
Now you can run a Report on this selection.
