Bundles - Modify Bundles

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

A Bundle is a stored list of Item numbers in a particular index order, usually derived from a Query. Once it is saved, you cannot alter its contents, although you can give it additional attributes such as an assigned Image Set or Pagination.

Modify Bundles allows you to add or delete Items, and alter the sequence of Items in the Bundle before saving it as a new Bundle.

To modify a Bundle:

Highlight the Bundle in the Bundles screen and press <Modify Bundle>. The screen shown below appears.

The top of the screen has information about the Bundle as loaded. The main section is a list of the Items in the order in which they are stored in the Bundle. Above the buttons at the bottom is information about the highlighted Item.

Note: Taking <Modify Bundle> does NOT load that Bundle as the current Selection. One of the options described below is to Add Items. Your Selection should therefore include any Items which you may want to add to the Bundle being modified.

Change the order of Items

Click on an Item to highlight it in blue. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the Item to its new position in the list.

Remove an Item

Highlight it and press <Remove Item>. There is no warning - the Item simply disappears from the list.

Add an Item

Go to the Control Panel without closing the Modify Bundles screen. The only active button is View. Take it to open your current Selection. Navigate to the Item which you want to add - remember that you can jump to any Item in the Selection by entering its Item Number in the top left hand box and pressing <Enter>. Once the Item is open, return to the Modify Bundles screen and press <Add Item>. The current Item is added to the list at the place where the highlight was.

Note: There is nothing to stop you from adding an Item a second time. When you come to re-save the Bundle, it will be a print bundle ie can only be used for printing bundles of images.

Save as new Bundle

This option saves the Bundle in the usual way. You must give it a name and may choose to assign an Image Set to it.

Font

This button brings up a list of the fonts installed on your PC. Pick one which suits you, set its size and choose if you want it to be bold. The list of Items then appears in that font. This information is saved for the next time you use this screen.

There are other ways in which you can re-use and/or achieve variants on a bundle.

Re-Save a Bundle

You can give the Bundle a new Description, assign a different Image Set or none, or use Merge Bundles to identify differences between an edited and an unedited version of a Bundle

Re-Run Query

The original Query is stored with the Bundle and can be run again. The result can be saved as a new Bundle

Sub-Query Bundle

When making a Query choose to limit your search to the Items in an existing Bundle. Save the results as a new Bundle

Mark /UnMark in Grid View

Highlight Items in a tabular view of the Selection or Bundle. Save as a new Bundle either the marked or the unmarked rows
