Append Image to Item

Append another image to this Item's Image

This meets the situation where an Image exists but is incomplete - perhaps its pages have been scanned as a separate Item or have been newly scanned as bare images without an Item. In the latter case an Item must be added to identify the additional Image file.

The top part of the screen shown above is largely completed for you. By default the existing image will be backed up before the append takes place. You can opt to see the image as it presently exists.

In the bottom half you can enter the Item Number of the image to be appended. If the Item exists and has a .tiff image, the bottom half of the screen is completed for you. You can search for the Item with the button <Find Item>. You can type the Item No if known or use the binoculars icon to invoke the Query Wizard to find it (there is a fuller description of this under the second option below).

If there is an Item with that number, its Description will appear. If no Description appears, the Item either does not exist or, if it does exist, it has no Description. If the Item exists but has no image, a message will tell you so. The <Append> button only becomes active if the second Item both exists and has an image file to add. You can view it once found by taking <View Image>.

Pressing <Append> adds the second Image as additional pages behind the first. Note that this does not itself update the page count in the Item Card for the first Item. See the Manual section Set or Sum .tiff Page Counts

Lastly, you get this confirmatory message.
